Work from anywhere... and make consistent $10k months

I started my online business in 2016. At the time I was living in Mexico, only needing about $400/month to survive.

Back then, my days were filled with beach time, blogging, and trying to understand EVERYTHING involved to create a business… that would allow me to work from anywhere.

While I was having the time of my life, enjoying the freedom and independence I had been craving for so long… Reality hit me when I moved to NYC 6 months later… where my rent was $1,550, and I had been averaging $1,500/month of income in my business.

As I was burning through my savings, I started to learn everything I could about marketing, sales, and making money online (so that I could continue to live and work anywhere I wanted to).

6 years later, I’ve found the 4 main reasons why people (you maybe?) AREN’T making consistent sales online…

1️⃣ You don’t have enough leads

You can sell on your IG Stories all day long but if m no one is watching them, you’re going to need a different approach.

Consistent sales come from 1 of 2 ways:

  1. New people in your audience who buy from you

  2. Recurring customers who buy from you again and AGAIN

If you want MORE sales, you’ve got to:

  1. Continue to grow your audience organically by showing up on social/podcasts/speaking

  2. Automate your lead generation to attract new people 24/7 (I do this through paid ads and I LOVE it as it doesn’t require me to show my face on social every day)

  3. Create and make more offers and give your people a chance to buy!

2️⃣ You’re not making enough offers

Trust me, there are people in your audience who want to buy from you and who are ready to buy NOW.

If you never talk about your offers, how do you expect them to buy?

If you only have one offer, how do you expect them to buy from you again?

While you don’t necessarily need +10 different things to sell, what you want to master is the art of packaging an offer to make it sound so juicy your audience won’t be able to resist!

You can do this by:

  1. Offering a special price (discount/early bird/pre-launch/pre-sale)

  2. Bundling it up with another product/service

  3. Adding a special bonus

The 2 things to keep in mind to increase your sales:

People buy when there are 2 things involved:

Scarcity and/or urgency.

You can achieve them by:

  1. Limiting the number of units (only for the first 10)

  2. Setting a deadline (only available until Thursday at midnight)

3️⃣ You don’t have a system (aka funnel) If you’re relying on yourself to show up daily in order to make sales… …I feel for you!

As women, we’re simply not engineered to show up with the same energy levels every single day of the month.

And as entrepreneurs, we didn’t choose this path to become slaves of our own businesses.

So how can you do this?

In short, there are 2 types of funnels:

  1. Attracting “leads”. This involves creating a freebie for your prospects to join your email list. After receiving the freebie (this could be a simple pdf, mini-course, webinar, or even a code for x% off their first order if you run a product-based business), you would then add them to a nurture/sales sequence (anywhere between 3 and 14 emails) which will eventually present them with an offer.

  2. Attracting “clients”. A similar approach to the above, except you’re not giving anything away for free. You make a PAID offer (either directly on social media, on a podcast, or through paid ads), which attracts paying clients who you can then move up your “value ladder” and continue to offer new, more expensive products/services.

4️⃣ You haven’t built enough trust or proven your process Fact: people get bombarded with offers all day long. Why SHOULD they pay for YOURS?

There are two “P’s” that play into why someone buys from someone else. They either buy into the PERSON or into their PROCESS. Either way, you’ve got to PROVE yourself.

Here’s the process that has worked for me and my online course business (7-figures & my only commitments are 3 group calls/month + check-ins with my team):

  1. Build a funnel (mine is a webinar that leads to an offer for an online course)

  2. Pick exactly WHO you want to target

  3. Run Facebook & Instagram ads to it (you can start with as little as $5-$10/day!!)

  4. Let your automated email sequences do the trust-building (share your BEST stuff!)

  5. Test and tweak until it works.
