I've you've been on Instagram for a while, you've probably noticed that it's not really the biggest traffic driver. While it's an amazing platform to build your community, make authentic connections with your ideal followers and clients, Instagram is designed to keep users on the app, so getting people to click through to your website can be challenging.
Pinterest, on the other hand, does quite the opposite and really is more of a search engine than a social media platform (think of it as Google with pretty pictures).
Pinterest isn't about gaining tons and tons of followers.
It's not about commenting on other peoples' Pins, or spending hours liking other peoples' content.
People go to Pinterest because they're searching information.
Pinterest is designed for users to click through to other websites in order to fin the information they're looking for.
I've been using Pinterest ever since I started my blog, and even though I don't spend a ton of time on the platform (probably less than 1 hour per week actually), it accounts for over 50% of my website traffic!
I actually just took a little look at my Google Analytics and was amazed to see that out of all of my social media platforms Pinterest makes up over 80% of my traffic!
This month I parntered up wit Pinterest Influencer Antonella (find her here on Pinterest @aantonella), to talk about some of the secrets to quickly growing your website traffic, some of the recent changes, and how YOU can make the most of this platform.
Check out the interview for all the goodness:
